One of the few things I was rather proud of John McCain over, was his stance on banning torture.  I believed his experiences as a POW would inspire him to keep anyone from experiencing what he did…guess I was wrong…very wrong indeed.  *sigh*

  • Yes, It true every time politics comes around I get this sick feeling in my stomach.
I was reading this article online that was talking about how all the Dems are not coming out and backing either Obama or Clinton. They were wondering why? I thought well no duh, If they back Ms. Clinton, who has digressed to nastiness and didn’t even have the grace to congratulate Mr. Obama on his recent primary wins in MD,VA and DC, imagine how nice she would be to them if she should win the presidency? You didn’t back me? you backed Obama? I am going to make your life HELL. No kidding, they can’t figure that out? who are these journalist super geniuses, all you have to do is look at what happened to those Dems that didn’t support Bill, no wait you can’t look at them, because they are not around any more…Hunh.Go figure.

“…there was-and always had been-another tradition to politics, a tradition that stretched from the days of the country’s founding to the glory of the civil rights movement, a tradition based on the simple idea that we have a stake in one another, and that what binds us together is greater than what drives us apart, and that if enough people belive in the truth of that proposition and act on it, then we might not solve every problem, but we can get something meaningful done.” ~Barack Obama
That is the meaning of politics that I love and I believe in. If we want this grand experiment in democracy to live on, we must be willing to raise our voices and fight for what truly matters…and if those that are on the verge of representing us have forgotten that simple fact, than it is our resposibility to keep them from the reins of power. This is a government of the people, by the people, and for the people and ‘we’ the people need to stand up…we have buried our heads for too long. Take some Rolaids and meet me on the front lines, we need to take out country back…and unlike with Bush/Cheney I don’t mean to the Middle Ages! 🙂
